Kevin Christopher Basko is a singer/songwriter/musician from Millstone Township, NJ. Beginning in Fall 2011 he will be attending Berklee College Of Music in Boston, MA. Kevin’s formal music training began in 2003 although his love for music is life long. “Music is the one thing I have always used to bring joy into my life” says this young artist “in addition I’ve met people who have inspired me and taught me valuable lessons through sharing music.” Influenced by blues guitar giants like Buddy Guy and B.B. King as well as iconic songwriters like Paul Simon, Bono/Edge and John Mayer, Basko pulls it all together to create his own unique style on his debut CD called The Atmosphere. The Atmosphere marks the beginning point in 18 year old Kevin Basko’s solo career. After playing lead guitar in the New Jersey rock band Finale Hill the young artist has set his course in a different direction. His style as a solo act is much broader than anything that he has previously done, incorporating bits of rock, acoustic, jazz and even Latin and world music into twelve songs that stay with the listener long after hearing. Kevin is no stranger to performing live. He has played numerous gigs from coffee houses to notable venues like The Stone Pony and The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ as well as Arlene’s Grocery in New York City. Basko continues to perform live in and around his native New Jersey as well as Washington D.C. and Delaware colleges building his fan base with each performance. Kevin Basko is also a prolific songwriter. He has completed the writing for his second cd and is already working on material for a third to come.
